Vanderbilt Giving Day will take place on April 7, 2021.


Q. What is Vanderbilt Giving Day?

Vanderbilt Giving Day is 24 hours when we all come together to show our Commodore pride by giving to the areas of Vanderbilt that mean the most to us.

Gifts of all sizes will add up to have a big impact for students, faculty and our entire community.


Q. Who can participate in Giving Day?

Anyone! We encourage all alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends to participate by making a gift through the Vanderbilt Giving Day online portal via credit or debit card.


Q. Why should I give to Vanderbilt?

As our world continues to face great challenges like the global pandemic, your support of Vanderbilt students and faculty means more than ever.

  • You provide scholarships for students who will help a world in crisis and ensure that a Vanderbilt education remains accessible for all qualified students.
  • You fund resources that allow us to seize new opportunities, overcome unexpected hardships and extend learning beyond the classroom into virtual spaces.
  • You fuel research and innovation, including cross-disciplinary collaborations that address the medical, societal and interpersonal effects of the pandemic.

Q. Can I give to any area of the university?

Yes. From your school to athletics or your favorite student group, you can make your gift to the area of Vanderbilt that is most meaningful to you.


Q. What if I have already made a gift to Vanderbilt this fiscal year?

Thank you for your support! You are already making a difference. A participation gift will enable Vanderbilt to do even more and help us reach our Giving Day goals. We hope you will be part of this exciting day.


Q. Is there a minimum gift amount

The minimum gift amount is $1. Our goal for the day is based on participation, and gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated. When our entire community comes together to support Vanderbilt, big things can happen.


Q. Can I make a gift via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit vu.edu/givingday on your mobile device on April 7.


Q. Are Vanderbilt Giving Day contributions tax-deductible?

Yes, your gift is tax-deductible. You will receive an email confirmation of your gift, as well as a gift receipt in the mail. If you have questions about the tax deductibility of your gift, please consult with your tax professional.


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is the secure giving platform that Vanderbilt is using to facilitate raising money, engaging donors and managing volunteers on Vanderbilt Giving Day. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


Q. Who will receive my contact information?

Only Vanderbilt will have access to your name and contact information. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.
